YOUTH MIX PROJECTS

“Inspiring A Generation” - our overall ethos is to inspire young people in an interactive and exciting way that gives young people hands on experiences and learning opportunities to kick-start them on their journey to achieve their goals and dreams. Our aim is to give them the guidance, tools and skills to help them achieve that.

We will be delivering an array of highly effective projects engaging with hard to reach young people across England, particularly in areas of high need. Projects will include providing tools and education on life and social skills, organising community cohesion events, delivering workshops on topics relevant to young people’s needs and promoting volunteering opportunities.

Young Offenders Mentoring Programme

Youth Mix believes that everyone deserves a second chance. We believe that with the right tools and support there is always an alternative future for young people who have been through the justice system.

Evidence has shown that interventions which are effective to reduce reoffending include programmes that provide motivational support for offenders to change.

We are excited to be starting the Young Offenders Mentoring Programme! Our aim is to increase the confidence for young offenders to be self sufficient through increasing their practical and soft skill sets and help them re-integrate into society as active citizens in hope of reducing the likelihood of reoffending.

For our first phase, we will be delivering one to one mentoring to female offenders aged between 18-26, providing guidance so they are able to identify what is important to them and their future. We will also provide relevant tools, courses and training to educate them on appropriate behaviour and to improve their interpersonal skills so they become more confident and therefore increase their chances of achieving their personal goals.

Want to improve your CV?

We are excited to say that Youth Mix has now launched our CV project! We have over 70 experienced volunteers available to support young people in developing and improving their CV.

Youth Mix connects professional volunteers with young people who are looking to enter the same industry. We value the breadth of experience and knowledge of our volunteers in being able to provide invaluable feedback to our young people for future job opportunities.

Our main objective of the project is for young people to be able to improve their CVs based on the feedback and suggestions from Youth Mix volunteers within the same industry. This industry based approach allows the CV to be tailored to the field in which the young person is focussed on.

IMPORTANT UPDATE 07/10: We are noticing that a few people are not getting our emails after the Expression of Interest (EOI) form is raised. Please are you able to check your junk mail for emails from cv@youthmix.org.uk alternatively please email us at cv@youthmix.org.uk or hello@youthmix.org.uk if you have not heard back from Youth Mix for more than 2 days since your EOI form was submitted.

Young Leaders Programme

Our Young Leaders volunteer for Youth Mix and help drive the strategic direction of the organisation. Youth Mix needs Young Leaders to ensure the programmes and services that we provide are in need and can be delivered in the most effective way possible.

We are grateful to our Young Leaders for devoting their time to Youth Mix so we can ensure our programmes and services are fit for purpose. In return we provide 1-2-1 support so that our Young Leaders can also achieve their goals. We provide mentoring programmes, training programmes, support in developing career plans and we provide tips and workshops for job interviews i.e. mock interviews and working through job applications.

Furthermore, by working with the CEO and Project Managers through the creation of new projects for Youth Mix, we also provide the opportunity for Young Leaders to build on their soft skills by brainstorming new ideas, thinking strategically, running and minuting meetings, putting together project plans, writing business cases, the list goes on.
